Hello, everyone!
This is a preliminary post, just in case you happened to find us before the full release. Tama-Zone is returning! Two of the original administrators are bringing it back. So yes, this will be the location of the official Tama-Zone revival.
So... how did we get here?
Tama-Zone originally ran on InvisionFree, which was a popular free web hosting service that we used for years. One of the founding members paid for the tama-zone.com domain. In 2017, InvisionFree announced that they were migrating to Tapatalk. In January 2018, the changes went live. Forums were already losing popularity in favor of Facebook groups and Discord. So traffic was slow, but not obsolete. Unbeknownst to the staff, the administrator who owned the original .com, let it go. With that, all the links across the entire forum broke. We did not know that they were letting go of the .com. That admin thought no one was interested anymore, so the rest of us admins looked into reviving it, but the amount of work involved was too much for two people who had full-time jobs. We ended up admining some Facebook groups for years.
Here comes 2026. I randomly decided to log into Tapatalk. I was doing server upgrades on my own servers, so I thought I would check it out. I discovered in the spam bot thread that a lot of people had been requesting access for at least 6 years, with a few requests being just two days before. We were shocked. So after some discussion, we decided that the Tapatalk forum would be our archive, and we would revive the charts, guides, and more to the forum, and start anew.
Why are we doing this instead of just working with Tapatalk?
One of the complaints from many administrators from InvisionFree boards and other Tapatalk forums have had continued issues with getting our data. Repeated requests have offered no support. That is the issue with having the forum hosted on platforms like this. Also, it gives Tapatalk and other services free rein to delete anything at any time.
Since I have had my server running for the past 11 years, we decided to host there. This gives us full control of our data. No matter what happens with technology updates or other changes, that data is ours to transfer to any platform or different application if we need to.
So what now?
Who knows if this will take off. We are fully aware that there are tons of social media platforms out there, and it is easier than ever to create your own sites. We decided to try this out for all those people who were looking for Tama-Zone access, and also for anyone who is tired of Meta owning everything! I already pay for my server out-of-pocket, so it was honestly a fun project to get this going again, and very nostalgic.
Even if we have few members and forums are dead for good, that's ok. Come look at the info here. Have a moment of nostalgia, and we hope you enjoyed your time here!
Thank you!
