Here's a thread similar to the fake reporting thread in the News forum, except for non-Tamagotchi pets. This fake Digimon D-Spirit is the perfect example of what we're looking to deal with here.
Seen as how fake digital pets (Digimon in particular) are showing up on eBay quite frequently now, I've stickied this thread in here instead of in the News forum, considering these aren't related to Tamas in particular.

And while I'm here, I'll throw out an example of a fake Digimon D-3 Digivice. The "Digimon Link System" bit was only on the Japanese devices, but none of those had this color scheme, white with transparent blue accents. More importantly, the screen is just wrong--you won't be seeing an egg like that on any version of the D-3, and it looks like the supremely cheap screen in this really horrible "49-in-1" pet I have.

This is my own Japanese Dinkie Dino, or RakuRaku DinoKun. Note that the left and right arrow buttons are not labelled, usually on the fakes these buttons have words under them which is a give away. The packaging for the fakes is very similar to the real packaging and there is an official Dinkie multipet, but they are very rare and these 49-in-1 pets are common and fake.

I found fake Furbies!

The first fake Furby is "Amazing Foobie",and the second one is Furbish!
I hate the companies who make fake furbies!
But I am glad I never brought one!
They are hard to find on Ebay these days!

For anyone who is interested to find out how the fake Dinkie Dinos work, here are some pictures:

1) The untabbed 'Dinkie Dino'-Or should I say 'Dinoa'? Look at the fakey chicken, fish and lizard on the shell. The named buttons don't do what they are supposed to.
2) The first to appear after untabbing is a rabbit. Yawn.
3) Next, a frog. Very bland pixels.
4) A dog... With 5 legs? O_o
5) Some sort of crab.
6) A cuter frog. At least, I think it's a frog.
7) A chicken! Yay! There are about 100 of these badly pixellated guys on here-Some are incomplete, some just look bizarre and some familiar characters reappear, such as Pikachu and Hello Kitty! I selected the chicken.
8) Setting the clock. Pushing 'Decide' adds one minute to the counter and pushing 'Cancel' actually sets the time.
9) Eggy leggy!
10) Landing!
11) Here's the hen after hatching. It doesn't grow/evolve/do anything further-That's it.
12) Feeding it-A choice of milk, food and... Wine? O_o
13) Playing some game which you can always win if you let the face land on the right. Such a silly game. You can't really lose it and it doesn't actually do anything for the pet.
14) Some random music which does absolutely nothing to the pet.
15) A variation of rock-paper-scissors.
16) When Henny is full up, she changes into... Marutchi? She also does this if you select the 'shot' icon when she isn't ill.
17) Stats. I cannot be bothered to feed her. I've already put the tab back in because this pet is so bad.
18) I wonder what the umbrella means...
19) Age and some random code.
20) Finally! I figured this one out-It's the win ratio. Your wins are on the left. No matter what your character is, the left icon is always 'Hennytchi' and the right is always 'Envelopetchi'.
21) You can let it go to sleep whenever.
I bought this about 3 years ago from Poundland. Back then I didn't have a Tamagotchi and I wanted to figure out how good/bad a caretaker I was before getting one. I didn't know it was fake.
Of course, it wasn't reassuring that the character died overnight or constantly kept resetting itself...
