Here at Tama-Zone we have often discussed substitute characters from the V2 to the V3. we thought it was about time we compiled the information all together into one topic.
Substitution of Characters from V2 to V3
The V3 characters have a direct counterpart character on the V2.
There are the same number of adults on both versions so where a V2 character isn't on the V3 - it has a replacement.
This can be proved by comparing the V2- and V3 characters' stats.
The V3 characters have the same likes and dislikes as the counterpart characters except when the food doesn't exist on V3. Then it's replaced by another food.
Also the sleeping times, base weights and screen movements appear to be the same. They also appear to arise from similar levels of care.
These charts show visually the direct comparison you can make between a V2 and V3 character.

*Food highlighted in yellow boxes is to show where the food on the V2 was replaced on the V3 with another existing item.
For example- where a lollipop appears on the V2 side- a cupcake will appear on the V3 side- as a lollipop is not on the V3.
(Where 2 types of burger appear on the V2 they are subsituted with just the one type on the V3)
Here's a chart to show which foods were taken off the V2 and replaced with an existing food.
