Have you, like me, had a matchmaker pairing on a V4 with a character of the same sex?
Did the Matchmaker bring one of these characters but it was the wrong sex and you thought there was something wrong with your tamagotchi V4?
Violetchi, Tarakotchi, Mimitchi, Mametchi, Pyonkotchi, Memetchi, Androtchi, Masktchi, Gozarutchi, Pyontitchi, Debatchi, Hanatchi, Kuchipatchi.

This happened to me today- my Tensaitchi (who is a boy) was offered a Mametchi (which is also a boy on V4).

I thought something really weird had happened, but I asked binary and he showed me this photograph of a Mametchi on V4
Then we discussed it and realised what had happened. The Mametchi on Binary's V4 is a V3 Mametchi that his V4 had connected with.
So therefore when a V4 connects with a character that is on the older versions, that character can be a girl OR a boy. So therefore, in order that you can still mate a V3 Girl Mametchi with a V4 Boy Mametchi, they have to recognise that a Mametchi is either girl or boy when mating.
So, all the characters I have mentioned above, although they are on the V4 as a single sex character, when they are presented by the matchmaker, they can be EITHER boy or girl.
Bandai have obviously had to 'code' those characterd differently so they are recognised as both genders, when it comes to the 'baby making'.

No not really, on the V4 a mametchi will be always be a male character UNLESS it is being offered by the matchmaker as a potential mate - then it could be male or female.Melissa K. @ Feb 20 2007, 09:20 AM wrote:So, theoreticully, you COULD get a mametchi as boy or girl now. That is Ali the female mametchi from my debugged V2 appearing on my V4 friend list. She mated with Pauly my simashimatchi. I didn't really think anything much of it at the time
, and I had noticed the matchmaker sometimes brings me characters that were supposedly of the same sex as mine. It all makes sense now

To me, it doesn't surprise all that much about having Same gender characters on the V4. As far as I know, every Bandai tamagotchi has the exact same status chip and "hard drive". (Though, it's not that advanced to be called a hard drive). But when first programmed, they have standards built in. Like how the V1 adult characters are never Nazotchi when they appear on a tam, or how when a tama has different items. (like if you send a V4 stereo to a V3, it automaticly becomes a boom box.) But when other versions connect, some of the standards are broken. Like with the V4 gender type. And this is exactly what happened. :wink2:Added by spudilike · 30 May 2007

It isn't from a debugged tama, it is taken from selecting the friends list, because that was the 'mate' of the tama.
When you look at your friends list it will tell you the name of the tama, but if you press 'B' again it will tell you if it is a boy or girl. (you can probably see the 'book' icon highlighted in the picture for the friends list.)

You knew it was bound to happen, since the V4 is able to mate with all previous versions.
So to sum it up for those that still don't get it: If you have a character on version 1 through 3, and it's supposively the opposite gender on the V4 (like you having a male Mimitchi on the V2), it can still mate with the V4.
...if my friends knew about this kinda "Gay-Gotchi" thing, they'd become instant Tamagotchi addicts.

Is this right?If the tamagotchi has connected to an older version (such as V3) which has a character (say mametchi) who was a common character on the V3, and a male on V4, you might have a possible chance of getting the matchmaker to bring a mametchi to your character (say kuchipatchi)?
If that is right, it might be a bit simpler than Spudilike's way! Happy to help!

No this is not right. connecting with another version has nothing to do with who the matchmaker brings, Spudilike explains it brilliantly in her post - basically the matchmaker on V4 can bring any gender of any character even though they are only achievable on the Tamagotchi as one gender - so she could bring a boy Mimitchi even though you can only get Mimitchi as a girl. Barak, will you please stop trawling around old topics and saying things like:
'You can close this now' it's annoying. It really is pointless for us to close every single topic.
However, it is possible for the matchmaker to bring a mohitamatchi as she once brought me a Mizutamatchi, which was also a toddler.

Spiffy is someone else, but I do know her, although she's not a member here at the moment.
We have discussed the 'matchmaker glitch' so many times. Yes, it is a glitch as you really shouldn't be able to marry a toddler, but it happens.
